Team Clavey
Boys, girls, dogs and water.
When you call Clavey or stop by our shop in Petaluma, California, you’ll speak to one of these kids right here:
Jeff Silky Kellogg - Jeff’s days at Clavey can include everything from rigging the trailer for the next kayak/sup adventure to paying the bills. He’ll jump at any opportunity to get away from his desk, so you’ll find him out working a tour whenever possible. His favorite pastimes are paddling anything that floats, spending time with his family, and making his mountain bike go as fast as possible down single tracks in the backyard.
Tom Che Meckfessel - Between keeping the website fresh as a daisy and making the best paella any Spaniard ever dreamed of, Tom is, to say the least, a busy man. So please, Please, PLEASE don’t ask him how the surf is. We at Clavey HQ are extremely busy and if Tom gets more than two surf-related questions a day, we have to take a pay cut. But when the beach has no break, you’ll find him on the river with the rest of us non-surfing types, whipping up gourmand meals and keeping a weary eye on his private stash of Ranier Ale.
Scotto the Skipper Galbreath - A Northwest native, Scotto was kicked out of Portland to make room for more Californians during the great Oregon locals purge of the 90s. Having since had the moss professionally shaved from his body, Scotto can now be found belly up on his boat, basking in the sun’s golden rays, working hard to turn his white fat tan. “If God didn’t want us to drink beer during working hours,” Scotto argues “Why did he install a refrigerator in our warehouse?”
Scott Terriberry - Scott Terriberry has been a sea kayak guide for 17 years workingthe waters from Alaska and British Columbia to Baja Mexico. He is A.C.A. trained, W.F.R certified and has taught many classes from beginners to advanced expedition paddlers. In her free time she loves spending time with her husband Jeff, their daughter Raini and Matt the dog.

He is B.C.U. trained but is open to learning from all skill sets, especially while paddling the Mendocino rock gardens or surfing off the Limantour spit. When not paddling or at Clavey, he enjoys traveling the West Coast with his love, Ilse and their dog Max. He brings to Clavey’s thirty-five years retail experience and a real passion for helping paddlers in their quest for a safe, enjoyable adventure.
