When we first started taking our kids on the river we learned about a whole new kind of river equipment that simply could not be left behind - toys. 52 Barbies, 15 stuffed animals, 22 coloring books, Curious George. These thing add up quickly and before we knew it we had outgrown the Adventurer but weren't running rivers big enough to necessitate a Pro. And from this necessity the 15ft Avon Expedition was born.
The 21 and 1/4in inch tubes are 1/4in" inch larger than the Pro, offering buoyancy for larger loads while still maintaining smaller boat appeal. The Avon Expedition is a true gear boat with 10 large D-rings, 6 lift handles and no thwarts. Whether you're doing three days on the tight and technical Illinois or 18 days on the Grand, the Avon Expedition will stand up and be counted.
