A well-equipped raft begins with a versatile rowing frame. We really like the Expedition frame because it’s simple and lightweight, yet strong enough to carry heavy loads. And because it’s modular, it can be converted into a lightweight day frame by substituting a couple of parts. We rigged our ideal package with a large cooler, a dry box and a drop bag, for maximum storage capacity. A Dry Box is a dependable way to keep your kitchen and food dry and can also (with the addition of ethafoam) be used as a seat. The Drop Bag works well to stow miscellaneous hardware such as propane tanks, stoves and firepans. We utilize a Camp Table as a lid over the top of the drop bag which also doubles as a passenger seat. We like to put a Paco Pad on top of the Camp Table to provide a comfortable seat for passengers. In the rear of the raft, you’ll find space for your river bags.
