Part of the fun and thrill of rafting and riversports is in safely avoiding risk. Every boat should have at a minimum a throwbag, and every trip should have a first aid kit that is equipped for dealing with injuries that can occur, and a "Rescue-Kit" that contains static rope, webbing, carabiners and pulleys for assembling a z-rig haul line.Equal in importance to having this gear is the proper training. Swiftwater rescue and first-aid training are fun courses to participate in, and insure that if that accident happens, you'll be prepared to deal with it.
